Coshocton County Litter Prevention and Recycling Office
Links Page
These are just some of the places you can visit on the
internet for recycling information. They vary from
government sites which provide online information
about grants to sites dedicated to all kinds of
recycling crafts, fun and games! I've tried to give
a few details about each link. If you've got a
great recycling, composting or solid waste site and
think we should list it, send it to me via e-mail or
give us a call! We always like to get your input!
-
Earth's 911 - It's the web site that's also a
phone number! If you can't get to the address on your
computer (http://www.1800CLEANUP.org), you can also
call 1-800-CLEANUP. There's plenty of information
about recycling, solid waste issues and more. The
kicker here is that it can direct you to local recycling
information. Of course, if you're viewing this page,
you've already managed to do that. But it's still
chock-full of information. If you're looking for
information for an area outside of Coshocton County, or
want to know what activities may be happening, just use
the zip code locater below.
- Coshocton County Health
Department - We often get inquiries about waste issues which are beyond our ability to
work with. The Coshocton County Health Department does an outstanding job working with
issues such as vector hazards (i.e., mosquito-breeding sites) or dump sites on private grounds.
Check their site for more info.
-
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources,
Division of Litter Prevention and Recycling - This

If you're interested in composting at your home, this

also happens to greatly reduce the amount of trash
you throw away, so give it a look-see!
- Cornell University's "Trash Goes to School - This
site has several links which are good science/math
skills builders. They don't really have a central link,
so here's the activities they currently have posted:
Mini Landfill - Focuses on decomposition
Food Waste - Can be an eye-opener when students realize
just how much they're throwing away in the cafeteria.
Composting - Explores pros and cons of composing.

this is a great program which can not only take it for you, but you'll
be helping a great cause as well. This organization will recondition the
phone and make sure it's programmed to handle 911 calls. Phones are then
distributed to battered women's shelters nationwide and given free to
people who have had domestic violence problems in the past. You can also
call toll-free 1-800-901-SAFE for more information.

web page! Check it out. There'll be something you're
interested in there!
